Tens of millions of pounds have been secured to transform Walsall and we are looking for a talented communications professional to join our team to tell the story of the regeneration of our borough.
We have big ambitions to build on our proud industrial heritage and build a borough fit for the future.
Our team has an important role to play in this and we need a creative communications professional to work on a high-profile regeneration campaign.
The candidate:
We are looking for someone with strong writing skills who can promote and raise awareness of our Walsall town centre regeneration projects.
Working closely with external partners and the council's Communications Business Partner for Regeneration, you will have excellent writing skills and be able to research and write press releases for local, regional, national and specialist trade media.
You'll also be creative and able to develop ideas to tell the council's regeneration story and create engaging content for social media and marketing campaigns.

This role may also be suitable for journalists looking to develop a career in public sector communications.
Key Responsibilities include:
* Drafting press releases and organising photocalls
* Creating engaging multimedia content for social media
* Planning and delivering communications on behalf of the council
* Supporting project teams and attending stakeholder meetings
