About the role
As a Customer Delivery Installer Porter, you'll be the face of the John Lewis & Partners brand. You'll maintain a safe working environment by adhering to safety regulations in our customers’ homes.
This non-driver role offers a great opportunity for those looking to develop their careers in one of our Customer Delivery Hubs. You will need to complete a 13-week Porter training programme. Once completed, you'll be able to successfully install products, including wet connections, TV, and Advanced Audio Installations.
At the end of the 13 weeks, you will be assessed on the above elements to obtain your Installer Porter qualification.
Key Responsibilities
Once fully trained, your day will start at the delivery hub before heading out on route. Your responsibilities will include:
1. Being an ambassador for the John Lewis brand with excellent customer service as your top priority.
2. Helping load your lorry with the day's deliveries alongside the warehouse team.
3. Demonstrating respect and courtesy for the customer's home and handling unexpected situations to find the best solution for your customers.
4. Installing products efficiently and demonstrating how they work once installed.
5. Keeping up to date with new products and technologies to perform your role effectively.
6. Maintaining a safe working environment.
Essential skills/experience you'll need
* Ability to cope with the physical requirements of the role, including delivering large items such as sofas, white goods, sports equipment, furniture, beds, and mattresses.
Desirable skills/experience you may have
* Previous experience in a customer-facing role.
* Experience in the installation of white goods, furniture assembly, or related skills.
