Pharma – On Demand The On-Demand business is a specialist medical supply business that sources and distributes pharmaceuticals, medical equipment, and consumable supplies to healthcare professionals in over 160 countries worldwide. We have offices in Ireland, UK, Europe, USA and New Zealand. The company’s main divisions encompass everything from International Sales through Sales to NGO’s and Charities, Clinical Trials Supply, Imported (Unlicensed Medicines), Sexual Health Supplies, and the storage and distribution of medical products and devices for third parties. The role Supporting the Trading & Procurement Lead, in delivering a best in class Procurement function and strategy, driving continuous growth and development for the On-Demand business. Key Outcomes And Responsibilities Develop global relationships directly with manufacturers, selling the overall ethos of the Uniphar Group, and the On-Demand business Management of key internal stakeholders, Operations, Quality, Finance, HR Monthly monitoring and management of competitor commercial activities & offerings outside of On-Demand global channels to include appropriate response and communications Ownership of the supply chain relationships, understand the constraints and coordinate activities to ensure all resources are exercised and escalated if any supply gaps exist Present and deliver key initiatives updates on a weekly/monthly basis to OD Head of Procurement team Investigate and support the Trading strategy under Generics, Prescriptions medicines, Medical devices, OTC’s for each of the following regions: European & UK partnerships American/Canadian partnerships MENA partnerships Australasia partnerships LATAC & African partnerships Develop and maintain the On-Demand procurement strategy UK – support in the on-boarding of new distribution agreements, and develop a UK strategy to streamline the procurement function – i.e. Supplier analysis, Supplier development, preferred vendor management, etc UK – develop a best-in-class portfolio of products and suppliers, with exclusive arrangements where possible, maintaining a product portfolio with up to date pricing and availability ROW – develop a robust supplier portfolio and access to stock from global markets in key countries such as the US/Canada/EU and Asia Support the trading function of the business incorporating: International Sales Division Durbin BModesto Import and export of products across the OD Division Work closely with the business, on supporting the delivery of integration of acquisitions and realising synergies on a Group level Developing a 30, 60, 90 day rolling plan on the implementation of the overall Procurement strategy Qualification, Experience & Skills Required Proven track record in achieving targets, in a wholesale & retail environment. Solid understanding of the Pharmaceutical Industry and retail pharmacy. Extensive experience in all aspects of relationship management. Experience in incorporating a financial and strategic perspective to procurement policies. Proven analytical skills combined with excellent commercial acumen are essential. High levels of resilience and tenacity. Equally comfortable working alone or as part of a team. Flexible, innovative approach to work. Excellent communication skills - ability to communicate at all business levels, including customer/supplier conferences Ability to work well under pressure and to work to targets. Good time management and planning skills. Excellent Excel and Powerpoint skills Knowledge of SAP, BI and Arcos CRM systems an advantage. Competencies Communicates in a professional manner and effectively manages manufacturer relationships Works well within a team, flexible and willing to share Demonstrate ambition and initiative in their work Open to change in a fast moving industry and to new learning Be results orientated to achievement of team budget Be supportive of colleagues in a team environment Should adhere to the service values of Uniphar Retail Services Excellent communications skills including verbal, written and presentation Ability to learn new business processes and operationalise training provided on new IT applications This role will be based in our office in Hayes where a flexible hybrid working model is also available. It’s important to achieve the right balance between face-to-face interactions with virtual working over the long term. Moreover, there will be flexibility required to interact with colleagues (i.e., it’s not a ‘9 to 5’ type of job).
