Public Health Intelligence Analyst

We are thrilled to offer the opportunity of a permanent Senior Public Health Analyst post as part of the Cheshire East Public Health Team.

We are an Innovative team and have a thriving Joint Strategic Needs Assessment (JSNA) programme of work which is looking for new and exciting ways to engage stakeholders and present findings. We are looking for an individual who would like to be part of the team that is shaping Cheshire East’s health and wellbeing story.

Our Public Health team fosters a culture of education, professional development and partnership working and achieved UKPHR Employer of the Year award in 2023. Our embedded public health team has decades of experience and enjoys good relationships across the Council and wider health and care system. The post will carry lead responsibility for monitoring the performance of the mandated public health programmes - the NHS Health Checks Programme and National Child Measurement Programme (NCMP)

You will effectively plan, lead and continually develop the analytical elements of these programmes. The post involves responsibly handling identifiable data in accordance with data sharing agreements and Information Governance policies, monitoring national developments, learn from best practice, developing local, agreed quality standards and implement any necessary system changes. You will undertake data submission and validation for the programmes within their Operational Guidance and Information Governance policies, liaise with programme delivery providers, programme commissioner and the responsible body when required to ensure submission deadlines, coverage and quality targets are achieved.

In addition, you will be involved in the wider work of the Public Health Intelligence service to inform commissioning decisions of the Public Health Team. This will require you to undertake analysis of a variety of health and social datasets, ensuring the results are accurate, fit-for-purpose and presented to a high standard, including the interpretation of results. You will also provide advice and guidance on data and analytical matters to both internal and external customers. This may be via meetings, presentations or by producing technical guidance documents or notes to be issued with analysis.

You will need to work closely with the JSNA Manager to develop and maintain a shared intelligence function to provide support for Joint Strategic Needs Assessment.

As well as having theoretical knowledge of research methods and statistical analysis either demonstrated by a degree with an analytical component, or equivalent experience in an analytical role, the successful candidate will have:

4. The ability to converse at ease with our internal and external stakeholders.
