We’re seeking a Project Controls Specialist for a major UK civil engineering infrastructure project. This role can be freelance or permanent and involves managing reporting, cost, programme, risk, and document control on behalf of the contractor for the client.
Your duties will include -
Develop and maintain project controls systems that track progress, costs, and risks.
Produce dashboards, forecasts, and commercial reports for both client and internal stakeholders.
Manage applications for payment, cost forecasting, and revenue tracking.
Oversee document control processes and ensure compliance with contractual requirements.
Monitor risks and propose mitigation strategies through early warning notices.
Support bid/tender processes and contribute to social value/community benefit reporting.
Use industry-standard project management tools, including Primavera P6, MS Project, Power BI, and Excel.
Report to the Project Manager/Commercial Manager, providing actionable insights to support delivery and decision-making.
Requirements for this post include -
Proven experience in project controls on civil engineering or infrastructure projects within the UK for tier one contractors.
Strong knowledge of cost, programme, risk, document control, and project delivery processes.
Previous experience overseeing the delivery of major infrastructure projects.
Commercially aware with experience in financial forecasting, reporting, and contractor accountability.
Confident in collaborating with client representatives while maintaining contractor-side responsibility.
Preferably a civil engineering orientated qualification with Professional accreditation (or working towards) such as APM, ICE, RICS, PMI, or equivalent is desirable.
