Cloud Security Specialist Role
A Cloud Security Specialist is a key consulting role, working with PA’s clients across the private and public sectors to define security architectures and solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to match their business requirements and risks. It will allow you to combine your expertise in information and cloud security, GCP solution architecture and business advice to define secure solutions in some of the most challenging environments. You will have the opportunity to be genuinely creative in providing clients with innovative security approaches and solutions.
What You Can Expect
* Work to agile best practices and cross‑functionally with multiple teams and stakeholders. You’ll be using your technical skills to problem‑solve with our clients, as well as working on internal projects.
* Live in‑person whiteboarding sessions to problem‑solve as a team, alongside asynchronous communication on Teams.
* Hybrid working with the team on client site or in our office a minimum of two days per week. However, the actual time you spend and where you spend it will vary by role or assignment, including up to 5 days per week on a client site.

Qualifications

* You thrive in problem‑solving and analytical thinking.
* You enjoy collaborating with multiple stakeholders in a fast‑paced environment.
* Defining the end‑to‑end security architecture and Google Cloud security solutions for a project or programme, creating conceptual, logical architectures and implementing these to align to business needs.
* Working to deliver leading edge solutions in identity management in Cloud IAM, network and infrastructure protection, cloud native security, security monitoring, network segregation, etc., to defend against some of the most advanced threats and capable threat actors.
* Reviewing the current state of client’s security measures and recommending and implementing enhancements.
* Interpreting complex business and technical issues to create a viable solution.
* Working on projects with high strategic impact, setting a strategy that can be used in the long term and across the breadth of the organisation.
* Designing secure system architectures through the application of Google best practice patterns and principles, to meet user needs while managing business and security risks.
* Applying innovative security architecture solutions to problems and being able to justify and communicate design decisions.
To meet the demands of this role, a solid foundation in information security, relevant certifications (such as Google Cloud Professional Security Engineer, Google Cloud Professional Security Operations Engineer, CISSP, CISM, IISP/CCP, TOGAF, SABSA), and a proven history of delivering security solutions for large‑scale infrastructure or integration projects are essential.
Please be aware that some of our UK roles at PA Consulting require a UK security clearance. All PA people are required to undergo background checks and to achieve the Baseline Personnel Security Standard; some UK roles also require higher levels of National Security Vetting, where applicants must have at least 5 years of continuous residency in the UK. We therefore ask that you only apply if you meet the residency requirements (i.e., you are a British citizen or have been resident in the UK for the past 5 years).
Assessment Process

* Quick call with one of our Tech Recruiters – to discuss your application, the role and PA.
* Round 1: Either a competency or technical interview (60 mins).
* Round 2: Either a competency or technical interview, whichever you didn’t do at first round (60 mins).
* Final round: Meeting with a PA leader – a mini case study and discussion around your client‑centricity (60 mins).
