Children's Services provide care to children and young people aged 0-16 years across a range of medical and surgical specialities including medicine, surgery, ENT and orthopaedics.
We are looking for a passionate Nursing Assistant to join our busy department. If you are an experienced Nursing Assistant, then we would love to hear from you.

Person Specification
Education and qualifications
* Holds a National Care Certificate or is willing to undertake and complete it within 12 weeks or starting.
* National Care Certificate holder.
* Functional skills level 1 Maths and English or GCSE equivalent.
Experience and knowledge
* Experience working in a healthcare, social care organisation/setting, or a service industry requiring people contact.
* Communication with a range of different people including children, parents/carers and members of the multidisciplinary team.
* Able to understand the importance of applying Person‑Centred Values in the care environment: privacy, dignity, respect, active participation, equality, diversity, confidentiality.
* Demonstrates an awareness of the importance of keeping the clinical environment safe and clean.
* Previous experience of working with children.
* To demonstrate a range of procedures and practices, base level of theoretical knowledge.
* Demonstrate through previous experience the ability to escalade concerns.
* Understanding of risk management and health and safety issues, including safe manual handling.
* Knowledge of the Data Protection Act.
* Ability to work in a multi‑agency team.
Skills and abilities
* Good communication skills (written and verbal).
* Effective use of electronic solutions to support the delivery of patient care.
* Able to work on own initiative, following direction/supervision by a Registered Healthcare Practitioner.
* Relates well with patients/relatives/visitors, colleagues and the multi‑disciplinary team and wider Trust staff.
