The opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated person to join EY’s specialist Funds Tax team based in London. The successful candidate will have an opportunity to work with our excellent existing clients and intermediaries, providing a great opportunity to build and expand their network and be instrumental in winning new business.
We are currently looking to expand our Transaction Tax team and are keen to speak with experienced Tax advisors.
Your key responsibilities
1. Overall responsibility for management of UK tax reporting being delivered to their client base.
2. Management of the successful delivery of technically complex and demanding consulting projects for their clients, ensuring technical excellence and practical / business focus approach taken
3. Pursuit of business development opportunities identified by other service lines at EY ( through audit, corporate finance or wider tax relationships)
4. Provision of development support to junior members of the team through effective supervision, coaching and mentoring
5. Contribution to people initiatives, including retaining and training our team
6. Significant role in the management of the team both in terms of strategy and operations and also through managing junior staff development and assignments
Skills and attributes for success
7. Technical and practical knowledge and experience in advising UK and non-UK Private Equity Houses
8. Client focused, strategically and commercially aware
9. Strong tax technical skills
10. Strong client relationship management skills with ability to develop quality outputs to clients
11. Negotiation skills
12. Business development skills, able to identify and convert opportunities to sell work
13. Effective time management, ability to remain calm when under pressure to meet deadlines
14. Excellent communicator in a range of situations both written and oral
15. Good knowledge within Mergers & Acquisitions
To qualify for the role you must have
16. ACA / Law qualification / Tax specialist qualification / or breadth of knowledge equivalent to a Tax specialist qualification
17. Strong tax technical skills
18. Business development skills, able to identify and convert opportunities to sell work
19. Experience of coaching and developing more junior staff
20. Knowledge of the taxation of partnerships
