Job Title: Heart Failure Clinical Nurse Specialist (Agenda for Change Band 7)
NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, one of the UK's largest healthcare systems employing around 40,000 staff, is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our Heart Failure team. We deliver a wide range of services, including acute hospital, primary, community, and mental health care to over 1.15 million residents, expanding to 2.2 million with regional and national services.
Role Overview
The successful candidate will work closely with the Multi-Disciplinary Team to provide a patient-centered specialist nursing service. The aim is to optimize care for patients with heart failure, managing their care from diagnosis through hospital admission and within the community.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide patient-centered specialist care for individuals with heart failure.
* Manage patients throughout their entire care episode, demonstrating a high level of autonomous specialist competence in clinical care and management.
Qualifications and Experience
* Registered Nurse with experience in Acute Cardiology or Heart Failure Services.
* Evidence of education to a relevant degree level or demonstrable equivalent.
* Understanding of cardiology and heart failure services and patient management.
* Well-developed leadership skills.
Additional Requirements
* Valid driver’s license and access to a car (essential).
* Potential eligibility for NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde’s Car Lease Scheme.
Employment Details
This is a part-time position, with shift hours from Monday to Friday, 9 am - 5 pm. The base will be within the South Sector, at Queen Elizabeth University Hospital and Gartnavel General Hospital, with possible duties at other sites as needed.
