Technical Project Manager
18 Months Fixed Term Contract

Role Overview
This Technical Delivery Projects Manager is responsible for the technical aspects including scoping, specification, design and delivery of the ClearSky Phase I & II projects (Electrification of Onsite Steam Generation). The role involves leading a cross‑functional team (internal & external), project management and delivery of the project. Delivery objectives will include all associated Civil, electrical, mechanical (including steam) works. The role will ensure that the installation meets safety, quality, cost, and delivery objectives while complying with regulatory and internal standards.
Responsibilities
ClearSky I
* Take ownership for the completion of the Clear Sky Phase I project.
* Complete original ClearSky I scope of works.
* Manage H&S activities for the Clear Sky project.
* Engage with internal stakeholders and contractors to complete outstanding actions.
* Prepare OpEx budget projections for operating the new plant equipment.
* Complete SOPs and other documentation to allow transition of Clear Sky Operations to site maintenance.
* Drive Steam Battery (SB) operational improvement and maintenance.
* Coordinate activities with SPX suppliers to meet required internal timescales.
* Manage activity related to the ongoing operation of SB.
* Plan, deliver, install and commission upgrades.
* Define a plan for continued operation of SB (clear procedures, standby contractors, subject‑matter experts, etc.).
ClearSky II
* Scope – develop the scope of works with clear milestones and deliverables.
* Specification – develop the specification to include M&E, steam system, civils and other associated infrastructure.
* Design – develop system design in conjunction with subject‑matter experts (internal & external).
* Costing & Budgeting – cost the project with the aim of developing the CapEx proposal for executive approval and sign‑off.
* Delivery & Commissioning – successfully deliver the project to agreed timescales and budgets using internal and external capabilities as per plan.
* Communication – regularly communicate progress, barriers and general activities to key stakeholders, including leadership teams and Cheltenham‑based colleagues.
Experience and Skills
* Engineering Degree, HND or equivalent experience.
* Design experience of electromechanical products and hardware associated with industrial steam or other fluid applications.
* Previous leadership of large‑scale multi‑discipline projects.
* Previous involvement in product designs that meet legal compliances for industrial products and equipment, with knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pressure containment or sustainability standards.
* Prior CDM experience.
* Strong analytical and problem‑solving capabilities.
* Excellent communication skills for collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
* Ability to present technical information clearly and concisely.
* Proactive and detail‑oriented mindset with a focus on delivery.
* Expertise in the thermal electrification of steam systems.
* Expertise in mechanical industrial steam or other fluid applications with high‑pressure or temperature applications.
* Good understanding of harmonised standards, e.g., PED / ASME.
* Contractor management.
