Role Overview
The Direct Marketing Lead is responsible for planning, delivering and optimising integrated, data‑driven campaigns across offline and digital channels to grow income from individual supporters. The role focuses on acquiring new donors, increasing the value of existing ones and maximizing return on investment through insight, segmentation and testing. It involves end‑to‑end direct response activity, budget management, supplier coordination and relationship building to support long‑term supporter engagement.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan and deliver integrated direct marketing campaigns across channels, ensuring campaigns are on time and within budget.
* Monitor performance, analyse results and use insights to optimise future campaigns.
* Develop supporter journeys to attract, engage and retain supporters.
* Collaborate with internal teams and external suppliers to execute campaigns effectively.
* Support wider planning and budgeting by providing campaign data and analysis.
* Ensure compliance with internal policies, legislation and best practice.
Essential Qualifications and Experience
* Proven track record of delivering integrated direct marketing campaigns, especially with postal activity.
* Experience designing and evolving supporter journeys that improve retention and engagement.
* Strong data literacy, including CRM/database use for segmentation, reporting and insight extraction.
* Success in managing campaign budgets, tracking income and optimising ROI.
* Effective collaboration with external partners, agencies and supply chain teams.
