Senior Planner – Major Projects (Minerals, Waste, Infrastructure, Renewables, Circular Economy)

MPG is a dynamic, specialist planning consultancy delivering nationally significant work across the minerals, waste, infrastructure, and industrial sectors. We are seeking a Senior Planner to join our growing team, ideally based from our Bingley or Skipton office.
The Role
You’ll play a key role in providing high quality consultancy advice to clients and delivering complex and high-profile projects, from circular economy facilities and industrial expansions to large-scale quarry and restoration schemes. Working as part of a close-knit, technically strong team, you’ll lead on applications, coordinate multidisciplinary inputs, and support clients from concept through to determination and beyond.
Key Responsibilities
* Management of planning projects
* Production and coordination of Environmental Impact Assessments
* Review and comment on technical reports and internal peer reviews
* Company representation at planning committees and public consultation events
* Business development and developing new and existing client relationships
About You
* Minimum 3 years’ experience in planning, preferably within minerals, waste, infrastructure, renewables, or industrial development
* Experience managing or supporting major or complex applications
* Ideally RTPI Chartered, or currently eligible for chartership
* Strong understanding of planning policy and environmental regulation
* Clear and confident communicator with good technical writing skills
* Proactive, organised, and comfortable working within a collaborative consultancy setting
