Maintenance Electrician - Scunthorpe
💼 Salary: £42,000 - £45,000 (DOE)
🕒 Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00am - 3:00pm
🌴 Holidays: 25 days annual leave + bank holidays
🌍 About the Role
We're on the lookout for a skilled Maintenance Electrician to join a dynamic and growing manufacturing team in Scunthorpe. This hands-on role is key to keeping operations running smoothly, safely, and efficiently across the site. You'll be part of a collaborative maintenance team, working cross-functionally to reduce downtime, improve systems, and support continuous improvement.
🔑 Key Responsibilities
⚡ Electrical & Mechanical Systems
Implement and manage electrical/mechanical systems to ensure smooth factory operations.
Develop and maintain a structured PPM (Planned Preventative Maintenance) program.
Review and revise systems to reduce downtime and improve efficiency.🧪 Testing & Inspections
Conduct routine inspections and maintenance across the site.
Perform on-site product testing in line with health & safety and legal standards.
Investigate breakdowns and support root cause analysis.🔁 Continuous Improvement
Carry out repair, maintenance, and installation tasks.
Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to enhance performance.
Recommend and implement process improvements.🔍 Compliance & Safety
Ensure all areas of the factory are audit-ready and compliant with internal and external standards.
Conduct safety inspections and support risk mitigation strategies.🤝 Working Relationships
Engineering Manager - Daily reporting and task coordination
Factory Manager - Daily updates and quality-related advice
Operations Team - Collaborative support for optimal performance
Process Control Engineer (AUS) - Occasional reporting and troubleshooting
🧠 Skills & Experience
Technical Proficiency (Preferred):
Allen-Bradley PLCs, PanelView, Citect SCADA V7.1 & V7.2
Rockwell Studio5000 & RS Logix ladder logic (digital/analog I/O troubleshooting)
HMIs, VFDs, sensors, and industrial electrical components
Rockwell Factory Talk View Studio ME (desirable)
CAD software for electrical schematics (desirable)
Windows OS, software installation, backups & recoveryPersonal Attributes:
Strong time management and communication skills
Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving ability
Calm under pressure, safety-conscious, and results-driven
