About the School Leaver Programme Our Accounts Associate School Leaver Programme is designed for ambitious school leavers who want to build a long-term career in accountancy without going to university. You’ll join one of our accounts teams and gain hands-on experience from the start. Your role will include preparing financial statements, assisting with personal tax returns, supporting managers with client portfolios, and working closely with colleagues across the firm. You’ll learn how to turn financial information into meaningful insights that help businesses grow. Alongside your role, you’ll study towards the AAT qualification, followed by the ACA qualification, the gold-standard route to becoming a Chartered Accountant. Your training will be fully funded by Ballards, with structured study support, mentoring, and guidance from experienced professionals to help you succeed at every stage. About You We’re looking for motivated, organised school leavers with a strong interest in numbers, business, and problem-solving. You’ll need: Strong academic results (A-levels and GCSEs or equivalent) A proactive attitude and willingness to learn Good attention to detail and time management skills Strong communication skills and a professional approach No previous accounting experience is required – we’ll provide all the training and support you need.
