Robert Half is seeking an experienced and commercially astute Group Financial Controller to join a well-established, Lancashire based wholesale business. Reporting directly to the Directors, this role will oversee the finance function across the group and play a key role in shaping the company's financial strategy.
The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, with a strong commercial mindset and an understanding of business strategy. Experience in operations and sales is advantageous, alongside a history of successfully implementing system and process improvements.

Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual management accounts to the Board.
* Manage cash flow, including transactions in multiple currencies.
* Lead financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
* Oversee the full auditing process and liaise with external auditors.
* Implement process improvements, efficiency measures, and automation initiatives.
* Ensure robust financial controls, compliance, and adherence to accounting standards.
* Manage, mentor, and develop the finance team, promoting best practice across all operations.
* Coordinate tax planning and compliance in partnership with external advisors when necessary.
Required Experience and Qualifications:
* Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
* Minimum of 5 years post-qualification experience.
* Proven controller experience within retail or wholesale preferred
* Demonstrated experience managing a finance team.
* Excellent communication skills, able to clearly convey financial information to both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
* Strong technical accounting knowledge.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, Sage 200, and other accounting software.
