Overview
As a Night Porter, you will become a vital part of our nights team providing the warmest of welcomes and exceptional customer service. You will be responsible for the safety and security of our guests as they sleep and will need to be able to react to their needs using your own initiative.
A fantastic collection of Grade I and Grade II listed buildings, Middletons Hotel is an architectural gem that houses tales of York's history within its walls. Centred around a gorgeous courtyard garden, the hotel comprises lovingly restored buildings that once functioned as a hospital, Joseph Terry Almshouses, an organ factory, a sawmill, and a row of Georgian Townhouses. A dedicated team provide an excellent service to guests whether that be hosting celebrations, creating memorable cocktails or enjoying a weekend in the city. Responsibilities
* Checking in late arrivals
* Cleaning the property and setting up meeting / conference rooms
* Arranging newspapers and wake up calls
* Ensuring the building and guests are secure
* Helping set the dining area for breakfast
About the role
Our Night Porter plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth running of our hotel. You will need to be a responsible and reliable person who doesn’t mind being a night owl. You will be able to stay calm under pressure, take any complications in your stride, and effortlessly deal with problems as they arise while maintaining standards at all times. You will need excellent communication skills and be confident to make the right decision. If you are self-motivated and can multi-task, this could be for you. Personality is important, and while previous hotel experience and basic computer skills are an advantage, full training is provided.
