They are a well-established organisation with a positive market reputation and over 20 years of experience in supported living.\n\nThis company are currently operating supported housing services for rehabilitating ex-offenders that have left a prison setting.
The service ensures the instilling of independent living skills, positive wellbeing and personal development within ex-offenders, working towards their bettering of life and prevention of repeat offending.\n\nThe Opportunities\n \nHousing Support Workers will be working full-time; this will be: 35hrs occasionally Saturday with Monday off. Late and early shifts patterns. (Apply online only) and (Apply online only) \nCompetitive pay rates; Housing Support Workers are paid £17.69 (Umbrella), per hour.
You will also be paid £0.45 per mile for travel between services. \nContract length will be 3-months before prospective extension and/or permanence. \nYou will be based across the whole of Sunderland \nAdministration work can be completed in a flexible location, with state-of-the-art IT equipment provided for all work. \nWorking with these service users - Bail, HDC or on license The Responsibilities\n \nAs a Housing Support Worker, you will be required to visit each property various times each week, conducting support sessions with service users in line with the appropriate requirements.
\nSupporting clients in their accessing opportunities to claim benefits and housing pathways, as well as sign posting them to local agencies and service providers, in line with their needs. \nAssisting clients in their ability to conduct income management and assist them in their tenancy sustainment through various methods. \nYou will be supporting service users in their general housing management, ensuring the properties are maintained to the client standards.
Meetings with contractors and assisting in the turnaround of void properties will also fall under this category. \nThe Support Worker will provide emotional support and monitor the well-being of clients living within the supported housing services. \nHousing management and support directly with ex-offenders every week making sure that all support sessions are written up, building inspection, probation meetings, health appointments as and when needed \nPlan and deliver effective support and safety plans with the service user referring to specialist agencies as required.
\nEnsure that properties are always adequately equipped, maintained, furnished, and cleaned. \nSupport residents to understand responsibilities that will help them keep their CAS-2 and future accommodation. \nEmpower and motivate service users to identify and achieve desired outcomes.
\nDevelop a move-on plan with service users at the earliest opportunity, identifying realistic options for their future home. The Requirements:\n \nHousing Support Worker’s must be someone with a valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle, and either already have or obtain business/commercial insurance for said vehicle. \nExperience in supporting clients / service-users’ with complex needs is essential. \nProactive and able to use their own initiative to manage a caseload.
\nPrevious experience or knowledge of social/supported housing processes is essential. \nThe ability to support others in their tenancy sustainment and income management. \nMust have an ENHANCED DBS (on update service) Adults then will complete HMPPS clearance The Desirables:\n \nRelevant training to housing or health and social care. \nOver 3 years’ experience within a relevant position within the healthcare industry.
