A leading facilities management provider is seeking an experiencedTechnical Manager to take ownership of technical delivery across a large site in the King's Cross area. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in a hands-on leadership role, ensuring operational excellence, technical compliance, and continual improvement across engineering systems.
Key Responsibilities: Provide professional oversight of all mechanical and electrical systems and related services on site.
Act as the technical lead for all on-site systems, supporting engineering staff with updates, procedural changes, and best practice implementation.
Assist in interviewing and selecting qualified technical personnel as required by the contract or project lead.
Notify the appropriate compliance stakeholders when any gas-related works are scheduled, including details of intended contractors.
Serve as deputy to the Contract Manager when required, supporting with leadership and contract operations.
Be the main technical point of contact for both the client and on-site teams.
Review and provide input on contractors Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS), especially for non-routine works.
Evaluate contractor competencies and maintain records in accordance with compliance requirements.
Advise on required technical competencies for effective site maintenance and help coordinate technical training for engineering staff.
Investigate technical incidents or service issues, producing detailed reports and escalating to regional technical leadership when necessary.
Oversee technical performance and asset maintenance across plant and equipment, including planning for future upgrades.
Support the client in resolving technical issues related to system performance or maintenance, liaising with senior technical consultants as necessary.
Ensure all maintenance is aligned with site protocols and health and safety legislation.
Undertake AP (Authorised Person) duties for systems aligned with your qualifications.
Conduct technical and quality audits to ensure compliance with legal, contractual, and best practice standards.
Ideal Candidate:
Proven experience in a senior engineering or technical services management role within facilities management or critical environments.
Relevant qualifications in mechanical or electrical engineering.
Authorised Person (AP) certification(s) preferred (e.g., HV/LV electrical systems, confined space).
Strong working knowledge of building services systems and compliance frameworks.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
A proactive leader who can drive standards, mentor staff, and ensure consistent delivery across complex environments.
