Assistant Environmental Consultant Opportunity (Salary: £20,000 - £25,000 per annum)
This company are currently seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Assistant Environmental Consultant to join their team at a multidisciplinary environmental consultancy based in Sheffield. The ideal candidate will possess a relevant degree in fields such as Geography, Earth/Environmental Sciences, or Engineering. They are committed to supporting your professional development and will cover the costs of membership to join a relevant professional body such as CIWEM.
With a dedicated team of 70 professionals, including 8 technical experts specializing in flood risk and drainage, their consultancy offers a supportive and collaborative work environment.
In this role, you will provide essential support to senior staff in delivering Flood Risk Assessments and Drainage Strategies for various projects, with a focus on residential development. Key responsibilities include:
* Assisting in the production of technical reports.
* Conducting site walkovers and survey works.
* Preparing consultations with water regulators.
* Liaising with clients and attending meetings under the supervision of senior staff.
* Managing time and budgets with guidance from line managers.
Skills and Experience:
* Possession of a relevant degree and a desire to gain accreditation with a professional body through practical experience.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills, particularly in report writing.
* Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
* Willingness to listen, follow instructions, review technical work, and learn from others.
* Familiarity with flood risk/drainage policy and guidance documents.
* Good IT skills and ability to learn new software.
Desirable:
- Familiarity with GIS/CAD software.
