As the first point of contact for our discerning guests, the front office team is the heartbeat of the hotel, setting the tone for every stay and ensuring a seamless, personalised experience from arrival to departure.
The opportunity
We are seeking a polished and personable Hotel Receptionist to join the front office team at Roseate House London. As a Hotel Receptionist, you will be the face of the hotel, welcoming guests with warmth and professionalism, managing reservations and check-in and check-out procedures, and delivering flawless five-star service at every interaction. Key responsibilities
Guest Experience & Front Desk Operations
Provide a warm, genuine welcome and fond farewell to every guest, ensuring the first and last impressions reflect the hotels five-star standards
Manage all check-in and check-out procedures efficiently and with meticulous attention to detail, using the hotels property management system
Handle guest reservations, amendments, and cancellations with accuracy, maximising occupancy and revenue opportunities
Anticipate guest needs, respond to enquiries and special requests promptly, and resolve any concerns with discretion and professionalism
Maintain comprehensive knowledge of the hotels rooms, suites, facilities, services, and local area to provide informed recommendations
Communication & Coordination
Act as the central point of communication between guests and all hotel departments, ensuring seamless service delivery
Conduct thorough handovers at shift changes, ensuring all guest preferences, VIP arrivals, and outstanding requests are communicated clearly
Liaise closely with housekeeping, maintenance, and the food and beverage team to coordinate guest requirements and room readiness
Process guest correspondence, messages, and wake-up calls with reliability and attention to detail
Administration & Compliance
Carry out accurate cash handling, billing, and end-of-shift reconciliation in accordance with company financial procedures
Maintain guest records and data in full compliance with GDPR and the hotels data protection policies
Ensure the front desk and lobby areas are immaculately presented at all times, reflecting the hotels luxury positioning
Adhere to all health and safety, fire safety, and security procedures, remaining vigilant at all times
Person specification
Essential
Minimum of one years reception or front desk experience within a four- or five-star hotel or luxury hospitality environment
Confident and proficient in the use of property management systems (e.g. Opera, Mews, or equivalent)
Exceptional guest-facing communication skills with warmth, poise, and a natural ability to build rapport
Outstanding attention to detail and a strong commitment to five-star service standards
A calm, composed, and resourceful approach, with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced hotel reception environment
Excellent personal presentation and fluency in English
Flexibility to work shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and bank holidays
Desirable
Additional language skills to enhance the international guest experience
Knowledge of revenue management principles and upselling techniques
Experience handling VIP, corporate, and group reservations
First aid qualification or fire marshal training
