Our client, a highly regarded, forward-thinking CA firm with a supportive, friendly culture, seeks to recruit a qualified Accountancy Supervisor to join their Accounts team. The successful candidate will have both the experience and drive to support the firm's continued controlled growth.
**Some experience or exposure to accounts review and VAT return review is required, along with broad current/recent UK accountancy practice background.**
Reporting to the Manager and Directors, this role offers the opportunity to build long-lasting relationships and work closely with clients as an all-round Business Advisor and main client contact for many clients and key team members.
IDEAL PERSON:
* This role will suit a qualified AAT, part-qualified/finalist ACCA, or qualified by experience individual with several years of UK accountancy practice experience, with an enthusiastic, client- and team-focused 'can-do' approach and a desire to self-develop.
* Individuals at finalist level, looking to qualify soon, will be considered and offered study support for their exams, as well as newly qualified candidates seeking a fresh challenge.
Responsibilities include:
* Review and preparation of year-end accounts and financial statements for mainly small, medium-sized, and OMB Ltd companies, as well as VAT return reviews
* Overseeing and monitoring all company secretarial matters and assisting junior team members
* Main client contact for many clients
* Assisting directors, accounts managers, and senior tax managers as required
* Preparation of technical or complex accounts
* Business advisory work, including technical and software support for clients
* Producing technical and topical articles to raise profile
* Reviewing client ledgers, monitoring budgets, and invoicing
* Training and supporting junior team members
* Supporting the firm on AML matters
* Supporting the integration of new software
* Attending professional development and networking opportunities
* Supporting accounts managers on technical matters and assisting in decision-making
* Covering the work of the Accounts Manager when unavailable
