* 2 References; 3 years' employment history preferred
* Qualification: HNC / HND or equivalent with extensive experience in Highways Maintenance
* Casual Car Documentation: Designated Casual Car User; occasional journeys may be necessary
The Team
The Highways Planned Maintenance Team manages the design, programming, and delivery of maintenance for carriageways and footways across Manchester, with an annual budget of approximately £14m covering around 450 sites. Responsibilities include reconstruction, resurfacing, and preventative treatments, requiring detailed knowledge of materials and techniques.
The Ideal Candidate
Reporting to the Team Leader, candidates should have extensive highway maintenance knowledge and the ability to:
* Identify and prioritize annual maintenance programs
* Validate Gaist roadscape data for scheme planning
* Design maintenance schemes with cost estimates
* Develop detailed delivery and traffic management plans
* Oversee works during construction, instruct contractors, and sign off on completion
Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills are essential, along with confidence in working with financial data and knowledge of contract management.
