Job Description
* Support the Supplier assessment and selection process by ensuring the proper implementation of applicable requirements (SAFe) by service providers.
* Ensure Suppliers apply Safran requirements, such as APQP, by supporting suppliers during production engineering of products (PPAP, MSA/statistical control) and act as the quality sponsor in the industrial validation process.
* Ensure that products and services comply with quality requirements by:
* Ensuring the proper application of applicable regulations (Part 21G, Part 21J, Part 145, human factors, safety management system, AS13xxx, etc.) and contractual quality requirements, whether technical or system level.
* Developing and implementing quality assurance plans (systems, products, transfers) with suppliers.
* Evaluating, planning, and conducting monitoring actions (audits, quality samples) at supplier sites and ensuring effective implementation by Tier 2 suppliers.
* Contributing to readiness reviews for joint supervision with Safran entities.
* Managing non-conformities by processing system, process, and product anomalies until effective corrective actions are verified using quality tools (9S, CAR, etc.).
* Implementing KPIs to measure supplier quality performance in line with the Safran rating system.
* Providing buyers with information to pass on poor-quality costs to suppliers.
* Monitoring and ensuring the implementation of performance improvement plans by suppliers.
* Promoting the use of Safran tools and methods among suppliers.
* Identifying and delivering necessary training (including e-learning) to promote our quality culture.
* Acting as quality representative for production transfers between suppliers and from Safran to a supplier, ensuring quality actions are properly implemented to meet customer and Safran requirements.
* Analyzing requirements, establishing, and maintaining quality deliverables, and cascading them to suppliers.
* Ensuring the proper application of GRP 0225.
* Ensuring the customer's voice is heard and understood by all suppliers and internal stakeholders.
The Successful Applicant
A successful Supplier Quality Engineer should have:
* Ability to work collaboratively with suppliers and internal teams.
* HNC / HND or equivalent in an Engineering Discipline.
* Internal Auditor AS9100 trained.
* Sound engineering / quality background, with experience in Quality inspection within manufacturing / engineering industry.
* Proven experience in a Supplier Quality role.
* Deep understanding and/or experience with QA tools such as APQP, PPAP, MSA, SPC, Control Plans, FMEA, Poke Yoke, and RCCA.
* Excellent knowledge of measuring equipment and general improvement tools (Lean, 6 Sigma).
* Experience managing risks related to materials, special processes, laboratories.
* Proficiency in quality analysis tools such as 8D SPC, PFMEA, etc.
* Knowledge of HSE risk management and flight safety risk management.
