New Directions Education are currently recruiting reliable and hardworking School Cleaners to work on a supply basis across schools in Wrexham. This flexible role offers working hours that are typically after school hours, making it ideal for those seeking work that fits around other commitments. You will play an important role in maintaining clean, safe, and welcoming environments for pupils and staff. Previous cleaning experience is desirable, but a positive attitude and strong work ethic are essential. A full driving licence and access to a vehicle would be an advantage, as travel between different school sites may be required.

A School Cleaner is responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness throughout the school.
Roles and responsibilities of a School Cleaner
As a School Cleaner, your role may include:
1. Cleaning the school site
2. Vacuuming carpeted areas and washing floors
3. Use of cleaning equipment
4. Emptying and cleaning bins
5. Spot cleaning of spillages
6. Cleaning desks, seats and skirting boards
7. Cleaning toilet areas and replenishing toiletries
8. Cleaning doors and windows
9. Checking stock levels of cleaning materials
10. Reporting all defects/hazards immediately to the caretaker or supervisor.
Skills and experience required to be a School Cleaner
To be a School Cleaner, you should:
11. Have a reasonable level of fitness
12. Be punctual, reliable and trustworthy
13. Be able to manage time effectively
14. Have the ability to work alone and without supervision, or as part of a team
15. Have awareness of health and safety procedures
16. Have reading skills for following instructions
17. Have maths skills for measuring cleaning fluids
18. Be pro-active rather than re-active.
