An exciting opportunity has arisen for a self-motivated and tenacious Operations Assistant to join our world class freight forwarding company.
The Role
You will be responsible for UK shipments on behalf of our customer, ensuring all activities are undertaken to maximize levels of customer satisfactions and in strict compliance with UK road regulations.
The successful candidate will:
* Book consignments with the relevant haulier taking into account the size, destination and any special delivery requirements.
* Produce delivery notes and labels from the database software.
* Answer queries (expediting orders and obtaining PoDs, inter-company and external).
* Obtain and communicate freight quotations as and when required.
* Check and process invoices against tariffs / quotes and coding.
* Monitor supplier's performance.
* Lead weekly meetings.
The Person:
The successful candidate will:
* Have previous experience working in an office, and ideally have knowledge / previous experience in a logistics business.
* Be IT literate and comfortable learning new software.
* Have excellent customer service skills with excellent interpersonal skills.
* Have excellent attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.

* Hours 37.5 per week (Monday – Friday 08:30 – 17:00).
