Because the pipeline of framework projects is so strong, the owner is now stepping back from day-to-day business development to focus on running the wider company. This has created a rare opportunity for a Senior BDM to take the reins of the commercial growth strategy, with a clear and defined pathway to a Director-level appointment. The Role With the public sector and framework pipeline firmly established and delivering consistent revenue, your primary focus will be diversifying the client base and driving high-margin growth within the private commercial, residential, and industrial sectors. Strategic Growth: Taking ownership of the business development strategy, targeting profitable private sector projects. Client Acquisition: Utilizing your established network to introduce new clients, developers, and consultants to the business. Bid Leadership: Working closely with the pre-construction and estimating teams to convert opportunities into secured, profitable contracts. Relationship Management: Acting as the commercial face of the business, fostering long-term relationships that yield repeat business. Requirements Essential: A proven track record operating as a Senior BDM within the UK construction sector (Main Contracting experience is highly preferred). Essential: You must possess an active, transferable "black book" of contacts, clients, and consultants in the South East / Kent regions that you can leverage immediately. Essential: A strategic thinker capable of working autonomously and reporting directly to the Managing Director. Desirable: Highly ambitious, with the desire and capability to step up into a Director role as the private sector division grows. What's on Offer Basic Salary: £75,000 to £85,000 (depending on experience and network). Bonus: A highly lucrative, performance-based commission/bonus structure tied to successful project wins.
