Overview
As part of this role you will be providing repairs on a planned and reactive basis to local NHS healthcare sites with a particular emphasis on plumbing and some mechanical works. You will have the opportunity to be involved in many aspects of reactive works and planned preventative maintenance (PPMs). Works could include plantroom duties, changing pumps, carrying out repairs to pipework, sentinel checks through to water temperature checks, repairs to the fabric of the building and much more. In addition to reactive repairs, there will also be some planned maintenance activities such as planned upgrade works, refurbishment as part of ongoing efforts to ensure a safe environment for service users. Normal working hours are 8.00am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday. There is also the opportunity to participate in an on-call rota system (which offers the opportunity to increase earnings and be involved in additional urgent repairs).
We now have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Maintenance Operative (Plumber) to join our NHS Maintenance team in Dartford. Our maintenance business provides a range of expert planned and responsive maintenance services to domestic properties and commercial buildings in the social housing, health and social care sectors. We look after a growing number of healthcare buildings for NHS Trusts, residential homes and educational facilities. Using the latest technology we ensure properties are well maintained, efficient and fit for purpose.
Responsibilities
* Provide planned and reactive repairs on NHS sites with a focus on plumbing and related mechanical works
* Carry out plantroom duties and pump changes
* Repair pipework and perform sentinel checks and water temperature checks
* Undertake repairs to the fabric of the building and other related duties
* Participate in planned maintenance activities including upgrades and refurbishment
* Contribute to a safe environment for service users and staff
* Participate in an on-call rota when required
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have previous experience of plumbing repairs and/or planned maintenance. Experience in an NHS environment is preferred, though candidates with experience maintaining commercial properties (such as office buildings, supermarkets, hotels, etc.) will also be considered. Ideally, you will hold a relevant plumbing qualification.
