Senior Vehicle Technician - Gloucester
1. Salary: Up to £40,000 per annum; however, this is negotiable pending experience.
2. Hours: 8:00am-5:30pm Mon to Fri with no weekends required.
Our client, a long-established Independent Automotive Service Centre situated in the Gloucester region, is currently looking to recruit a senior-level Vehicle Technician for their business.
Reporting to the Centre Manager and working as part of a close-knit team, as a Vehicle Technician, your key responsibilities will include:
3. Diagnose and repair complex mechanical and electrical issues.
4. Use diagnostic tools to identify faults efficiently.
5. Carry out major repairs (engine, transmission, suspension, electrical systems).
6. Troubleshoot and solve challenging technical problems.
7. Ensure all work meets manufacturer and safety standards.
8. Support and guide junior Vehicle Technicians, providing quality assurance and technical oversight when needed.
Do you need to be qualified to be eligible? In short, no!
An IMI/NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair would be highly advantageous, but our client is willing to consider personnel with no formal qualifications, provided they have extensive "time served" practical experience as a Vehicle Technician. You will hold excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and take initiative. You will need to hold a UK driving licence with minimal points, be a committed individual and a good team player. You must be able to produce a high quality of work in a busy workshop environment and be motivated to work towards targets set for your team. Professionals with a valid Class 4 and 7 MOT Testing License would be highly advantageous; however, this is non-essential.
