Company Overview: A global engineering company is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead the design and delivery of glovebox systems for nuclear applications. This is a senior technical leadership role ideal for someone with deep expertise in mechanical engineering projects, containment systems, and a proven ability to manage multidisciplinary teams across high-value contracts.
Key Responsibilities of the Engineering Manager:
1. Act as Engineering Design Authority and Nominated Engineer on major contracts
2. Lead mechanical engineering projects for glovebox systems from concept through to commissioning
3. Ensure compliance with ISO 10648, ASME, BS EN, and nuclear safety standards
4. Collaborate across mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and safety disciplines
5. Provide technical input to tenders and business development activities
6. Mentor junior engineers and support strategic capability growth
Candidate Requirements for Engineering Manager Role:
7. Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent (BEng/ BSc); postgraduate qualification preferred
8. Chartered Engineer status (IMechE, IET or equivalent)
9. 10+ years in nuclear engineering, including glovebox or containment systems
10. Strong knowledge of CAD (SolidWorks/ Inventor), CFD/ FEA, and stainless-steel fabrication
11. Proven leadership in mechanical engineering delivery and team development
12. British National and ability to obtain SC clearance
