Receptionist Job Description
We are a friendly surgery based in the village of Brundall, close to Norwich. You will be joining a team focused on patient care and our practice holds a Good CQC rating.
Responsibilities
1. Receive patients and direct them to their doctor.
2. Handle patient requests for appointments, either face-to-face or by telephone.
3. Manage all patient enquiries, face-to-face or by telephone.
4. Make appointments using the computer system.
5. Handle requests for home visits, hospital appointments, and hospital transport.
6. Make telephone calls on behalf of the doctors.
7. Respond to electronic task requests and messages from clinicians.
8. Input information and data into patients' electronic records following practice policy.
9. Register new patients onto the clinical system.
10. Assist with serving refreshments in rotation with other reception staff.
11. Work as the sole receptionist during late evening shifts.
12. Lock and secure practice doors and complete End of Day procedures after shifts.
13. Provide holiday and sickness cover as required and undertake training as needed.
14. Act as a chaperone when necessary.
15. Assist with electronic scanning and processing of incoming post.
16. Comply with practice policies and Staff Handbook.
17. Ensure reception waiting areas are kept clean and tidy.
18. Perform other duties as assigned.
