You are responsible for reviewingand maintaining stock lines, providing structured feedback and support tocolleagues around dispensing errors and near misses and (on successfulcompletion of ACT modules) accuracy checking prescriptions. Accuracy CheckingTechnicians are expected to support, coach and delegate work to the dispenserand stores teams where appropriate and support the pharmacist team indelivering a safe and effective pharmacy service.
As a registered professional, youwill be expected to engage regularly in non-routine tasks, as well ascontributing to regulatory documents, provide training for peers and makeprofessional decisions in the best interests of both the patient and the business.
Main duties of the job
Duties
* Technical accuracy checking of prescriptions prioritising workloadaccordivingly.
* Monitoring daily dispensary workload, liaising with the ResponsiblePharmacist to ensure it is managed effectively in a given timeframe.
* Analysis of processes within the dispensary to ensure efficiency andprofit.
* Training of peers across all areas and levels.
* Assisting in any and all dispensary activities, where required.
* Expensive stock management managing orders of high cost lines to limitstock holding.
* Maintaining cleanliness of the workspace in line with GPhC standards
* Completing additional projects outside of the dispensary, delegated bythe Pharmacy Manager or Management Team.
* Ensuring compliance with the Health and Safety at Work Act and all otherrelevant legislation e.g. Medicines Act, Control of substances Hazardous toHealth (COSHH) etc.
* Consistently following Standard Operating Procedures, suggesting andamending (via QMS) improvements where necessary, and making consistentregulatory contributions.
* Attend study days and updating courses as are deemed necessary for thedevelopment of the dispensary and the individual.
* Undertake any further duties as required by the Pharmacy Manager.

Person Specification
Experience
* 3+ years dispensary experience, although newly qualified ACTs accepted.
* Experience with stock pharmaceutical control.
Qualifications
* NVQ3 equivalent pharmacy technician course.
* Registration with GPhC as a Pharmacy Technician
* CMI level 3 in First Line Management
* Accredited accuracy checking course and GPhC registration as Accuracy Checking Technician
