You will manage one Quality inspector, and also lead on Health, Safety and Environmental matters. people help each other, and no two days are the same.

Seeking a Quality Manager with a strong manufacturing background to lead and continuously improve quality systems, processes, and culture. The focus is on driving quality throughout the organisation and ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory standards, industry best practices, and internal policies. This is a hands-on role that requires close collaboration with all departments including Sales, Engineering, Assembly, Procurement, and Senior Management. Quality Management
Ensure operational compliance to specifications and quality standards including ISO9001, ATEX, UL94 & CSA, playing a lead role in audit from external agencies
Monitor and analyse reject data, customer complaints, and non-conformances; proactively initiating root cause analysis and corrective actions.
Manage the company's processes & procedures implementing monitoring tools and KPIs, proactively build relationships with each team, to support improvements
Support resolution of quality issues both internally and with external suppliers
Review Shop Floor Records, technical specifications, and drawings, inspect ‘First Off’ items for Quality Department approval and approve Certificates of Conformity.
Work closely with the Engineering and Production teams to ensure build quality matches design intent and quality standards.
Conduct supplier quality audits in collaboration with the Procurement team; ensure suppliers meet technical and quality standards.
Manage, supervise and monitor quality control covering all production QC activities; Bring a pragmatic approach to the role, implement changes to drive up quality standards whilst understanding the business implications.
Continually improving your understanding of lean manufacturing methods, and core tools (including VSM, Root Cause Analysis, 8D, Six Sigma, TOC.)
Lead Bi-weekly quality meetings with operations team and report to senior management.
Establish & report on key quality metrics including; internal reject rates, supplier quality performance, overall cost of quality, customer complaints & returns.
Provide internal training to ensure compliance on quality standards.
Line management of a Quality Inspector.
Lead and maintain health & safety and environmental compliance in line with current legislation, while maintaining focus on operational quality improvement.
Promote and drive a positive safety culture across the organisation through training, engagement, and leadership.
Manage emergency preparedness and response planning, including fire drills and first aid.
Conduct Environmental Impact Assessments, lead improvement projects accordingly.
Raise awareness of environmental responsibilities across the organisation through training and engagement campaigns.
Proven experience in a QHSE role within [manufacturing/construction/engineering/logistics or relevant sector].
Excellent understanding of SHE legislation and regulatory requirements.
NEBOSH Certificate or Diploma (essential); Quality-related qualification (e.g. Science / Engineering degree, HNC, HND or time served apprenticeship in an Engineering discipline is desired.
