The Role
We aren’t looking for a traditional corporate marketer or a "No, because..." personality. We need a creative strategist and a "Yes, and..." thinker who understands how to build a brand that people want to join, not just watch.
As our Senior Marketing & Communications Manager, you’ll own the strategy that fills our seats and tells our story. You will be responsible for the high-level planning that drives our audience development, while also managing the day-to-day delivery of campaigns, press, and brand partnerships.
With us, one day you will be at the table with the AD/CEO and Executive Producer shaping the future of the company; the next, you’ll all be out together in a new tour location ensuring that hundreds of posters are exactly where they need to be. We need someone who is as comfortable with a spreadsheet as they are with a staple gun.
Responsibilities
1. Strategy, Growth and Partnerships
o The Roadmap: Develop and execute annual and project-specific marketing and communications strategies to hit our 100,000-person audience target.
o The Budget: Manage the marketing budgets with a sharp eye on ROI, sales forecasting, and accessible pricing.
o Location Expansion: Lead on the market research and strategy for new touring locations. Build an audience from scratch in areas where we have no prior footprint, identifying local influencers, community hubs, and media outlets.
o Stakeholders: Work closely with local authorities and host venues to ensure our arrival is a major community event. Bridge between our "Punk" ethos and the professional requirements of local councils and partners.
o Revenue Support: Provide vital support and creative collateral for sponsorship, corporate hire, and private event opportunities.
2. Audience Development and Data
o Insight: Develop and deliver on a new CRM and GA4 data strategy to track booking trends and identify new growth areas.
o Inclusion: Build Audience Development Plans that actually mean something—finding real ways to reach hyperlocal communities and underrepresented groups.
o The Journey: Oversee the Box Office strategy and customer service standards to ensure a seamless experience from first click to the tent door.
3. Content, Comms & Brand
o The Brand: Act as the guardian of the Revel Pucks voice across all print, digital, and environmental assets.
o Digital Ecosystem: Lead on our social media strategy, website management, and email marketing.
o Production: Oversee the creation and distribution of all marketing materials (including massive amounts of physical postering). Comfortable briefing a pro videographer and capturing raw behind-the-scenes content for Reels.
o PR: Act as the main press contact, managing external agencies where needed and securing high-profile coverage.
4. Management & Operations
o Leadership: Oversee the procurement and management of a roster of external freelancers (designers, photographers, videographers).
o Compliance: Ensure all data handling is GDPR compliant and all marketing activity aligns with our sustainability and inclusivity goals.
Who you are
* The Mindset: You are a "Yes, and" person. You look for ways to make big ideas happen and you aren't afraid of the hard graft required to get the word out.
* The Experience: 3–5 years in a similar role within the arts, festivals, or touring events. You know how to sell a show.
* The Eye: You have a great eye for design and can use tools like Canva, CapCut, or the Adobe Suite to keep our content fresh and high-quality.
* The Brain: You are analytical and data-driven but can translate a spreadsheet into a compelling human story.
* The Vibe: You are highly organised but thrive in the live environment. You’re a problem-solver who isn\'t afraid to get stuck in when the tent goes up.
Why Join us?
We work hard, but we value the person behind the job. We offer a competitive salary, paid overtime during our busiest "go-live" periods, and a flexible, hybrid approach to how you work. Most importantly, you get to play a lead role in growing one of the UK’s most exciting, mischievous circus companies.
To apply, please send a copy of your CV and cover letter to this form by the 12th January 2025.
