Mortgage Recoveries Solicitor – NQ to 4 Years PQE
Location: Manchester (2 days per week in office)
Salary: Competitive, DOE
Role Type: Permanent, Full-time
Flexible Working: Hybrid – 2 days office-based, 3 days remote
I’m working exclusively with a well-established and growing legal services provider in Manchester that specialises in mortgage recoveries and financial litigation. Due to expansion, they are now looking to recruit a Mortgage Recoveries Solicitor (NQ-4 PQE) to join their high-performing litigation team.
This is an ideal opportunity for a junior solicitor looking to specialise in mortgage possession work, title rectification, and complex recoveries, with exposure to a unique blend of volume litigation and technical defended claims.
The Role
You’ll work on a caseload of mortgage litigation matters-ranging from standard possession claims to more complex and contested issues, including:
1. Defended mortgage possession proceedings
2. Title disputes, Land Registry applications, and rectification claims
3. Challenges involving third-party interests
4. Issues of undue influence, fraud, and regulatory challenges
5. Enforcement, charging orders, and recovery strategies
You’ll be part of a collaborative team where you’ll receive excellent mentoring and access to robust internal systems. This isn’t a high-street role-it’s a commercially focused legal environment, working on behalf of major financial institutions and lenders, with a strong emphasis on compliance, data-led decision-making, and quality outcomes.
What They’re Looking For
6. Qualified Solicitor (England & Wales), ideally between NQ and 4 years PQE
7. Previous experience in litigation – ideally mortgage, banking, or property disputes
8. Strong drafting and analytical skills
9. Commercial awareness and the ability to balance risk, cost, and client priorities
10. Confident handling cases independently, or ready to take that next step
11. Comfortable with volume-based case management systems
12. A team player with a keen eye for regulatory detail and high standards of professionalism
Why Consider This Role?
13. Join a highly specialist team in an area of consistent demand and growth
14. Hybrid model – just two days in the office, based in central Manchester
15. Excellent development and progression opportunities within a regulated environment
16. Exposure to blue-chip clients and complex litigation work
17. Strong internal support, technology-driven systems, and manageable caseloads
18. A positive, forward-thinking culture that values quality over quantity
This firm has built a reputation for doing things differently-balancing technical litigation with efficient legal operations, offering junior lawyers a great platform to build their expertise in financial services litigation.
