Full time, 10 Programmed Activities per week plus 1additional PA subject to annual job plan review for flexibility and acuity

The successful candidate will be part of the out ofhours on-call consultant rota (1 in 15) and paid at 3% on call supplement

South West Yorkshire Partnership Foundation Trust arerecruiting for a Consultant Psychiatrist to join the Psychiatry Intensive CareUnit (PICU) based at Fieldhead Hospital, Ouchthorpe Lane, Wakefield. This role plays a vital part in ensuring ourpatients receive the care that they need and will be an integral role withinthe Wakefield Acute Care Pathway. WaltonPICU Ward is a 14-bed adult psychiatry intensive care unit (PICU) based at theUnity Centre, Fieldhead Hospital in Wakefield.

Qualifications
Essential
1. MB BS or equivalent medical qualification.
Desirable
2. Qualification or higher degree in medical education, clinical research or management.
3. MRCPsych.
4. Additional clinical qualifications
Experience

5. Excellent knowledge in specialty.
6. Excellent clinical skills using bio-psycho-social perspective and wide medical knowledge.
7. Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
8. Ability to work in and lead team.
9. Demonstrate commitment to shared leadership and collaborative working to deliver improvement.
10. Participated in continuous professional development.
11. Participated in research or service evaluation.
12. Able to lead Case-Based Discussion Groups.
Desirable
13. Wide range of specialist and sub-specialist experience relevant to post within NHS or comparable service.
14. Able to plan and deliver undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and training relevant to this post.

18. Fully registered with the GMC and have a licence to practise or be in a position to have a licence to practice on commencement in the post.
19. Included on the GMC Specialist Register for General Psychiatry, or within six months of gaining CCT.
20. Approved or eligible clinician status.
21. Approved or eligible under S12.
Desirable
22. In good standing with GMC with respect to warning and conditions on practice.
