Salary Range: c. £38,000 depending on experience
Location: Eastleigh or Bournemouth
Travel: You will be expected to visit an Ageas UK office on day per week

PLUS Team Leader Secondment: We’re looking for a PLUS Team Leader to join our Customer Operations function on a 6-month secondment, where you’ll play a key role in underwriting Personal Lines business, supporting the development of a high performing team, and strengthening relationships with our Broker partners.

In this role, you’ll lead the handling of complex underwriting referrals, drive quality and performance across your team, and champion process improvements that enhance both customer outcomes and operational efficiency. Acting as a technical expert and trusted advisor, you’ll support ongoing day to day operations, coach and develop colleagues, and help ensure we deliver excellent service and strong underwriting results across our Personal Lines portfolio.


Main Responsibilities:

1. Lead and oversee referral cases, underwriting queries, complaints, and policy administration within delegated authority, acting as the main escalation point for PLUS Technicians.
2. Provide coaching, feedback, and quality monitoring to support team competence, identifying training needs and ensuring high standards across calls, tasks, and complaint handling.
3. Act as a subject matter expert (SME), building strong internal and external relationships, including Brokers, and representing Ageas at relevant industry engagements.
4. Collaborate with Claims, Underwriting, Operations and Distribution teams to manage underwriting quality, minimise premium leakage, and maintain agreed service levels.
5. Identify and drive opportunities to improve the customer journey and operational efficiency, contributing to key business projects where required.
6. Support the PLUS Operations Manager with business change, reporting, onboarding, training, and team communication to maintain compliance, quality, and high team motivation

Skills and experience:

7. Previous experience within an Underwriting or Service function.
8. In depth knowledge of Broker, Partner or direct products and processes is essential.
9. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with confidence engaging senior managers and external stakeholders.
10. Excellent organisational, planning and analytical abilities, with a focus on problem solving.
11. Proven relationship management and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
12. Self motivated and able to work independently to strict deadlines, demonstrating integrity, sound judgement, and objectivity.
13. Good understanding of Ageas operations and business models, with experience implementing change and producing high quality written outputs.
