We are looking for an experienced Sous Chef to work with us in our restaurant. Café Circa is situated within the Scottish Antique and Arts Centre in Abernyte, Perthshire, PH14 9SJ. The restaurant has a capacity of 150 and is a thriving part of our business. We also have our outdoor cabin area with seating in the better weather
Working hours are day shift, no split shifts (5 days from 7 including weekends on a rota basis) closed 25th/26th December and 1st /2nd January. Competitive salary on offer.
As Sous Chef you will be second in command in the kitchen and assist in creating dishes to the highest quality for our customers. You will have strong people and operational management skills.
Your responsibilities will include:
Assist the Head Chef in overseeing the daily operations of the kitchen.
Help create and produce menus, taking into consideration seasonal ingredients and customer preferences and organise daily specials. Analysing the food offering and adapting menus to accommodate the changing desires of our customers.
Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment and ensure that all aspects of the operation comply with legislative requirements.
Monitor stock levels and order supplies as needed to maintain optimal stock levels.
Training, motivating and overseeing junior members of the team with strong leadership and communication skills. Take corrective action where appropriate if standards are not met.
Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Report any issues to the Head Chef.
Deputising for the Head Chef in their absence.
Working professionally with all colleagues.
Own transport essential due to location.
