Job Title: Community Development Project Officer (EVAWG) Location: Antrim (with travel across Council sites within the Borough as required) Salary: £18.85 per hour Working Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm Duration: Temporary contract – 3 to 6 months initially, with possible extension subject to review Start Date: ASAP Application Deadline: 4:00pm on Tuesday 26th May 2026 About the Role: On behalf of our client, Apple Recruitment Services are delighted to be recruiting a Community Development Project Officer (EVAWG) to support the delivery of community-based programmes focused on Ending Violence Against Women and Girls (EVAWG), Domestic & Sexual Abuse prevention, and wider community safety initiatives. Key Responsibilities: • Support the coordination and implementation of EVAWG and Domestic & Sexual Abuse initiatives and action plans • Assist with the delivery of prevention, awareness, and education programmes across the Borough • Coordinate community engagement activities, workshops, events, and partnership initiatives • Support delivery of programmes funded through The Executive Office (NI) Momentum and Change funding streams • Liaise with community groups, voluntary organisations, statutory partners, and stakeholders • Attend partnership meetings and committees to support collaborative programme delivery • Assist with programme monitoring, evaluation, and reporting against agreed targets and objectives • Maintain accurate programme files, records, and audit documentation • Support procurement and funding administration processes in line with Council procedures • Assist with budget monitoring and expenditure tracking • Work alongside Marketing and Communications teams to promote programme activity through social media, press releases, and promotional materials • Support the preparation of reports, presentations, and briefing materials • Assist with planning and delivery of community safety focused events throughout the year • Ensure all duties are carried out in line with safeguarding, equality, health & safety, and Council policies Essential Criteria: • A Level 5 qualification (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline such as Community Development, Youth Work, Social Sciences, Health & Social Care, Criminology, Public Health, or a related field OR • A minimum of 2 years’ relevant experience within a related role where no formal qualification is held AND • At least 1 year’s experience supporting the coordination or delivery of community-based programmes • Experience working collaboratively with community groups, voluntary organisations, or external partners • Experience maintaining monitoring information and contributing to programme reporting • Experience supporting the planning or delivery of events, workshops, or public engagement activities • Strong organisational and time-management skills • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Ability to build positive working relationships with a range of stakeholders • Competent IT skills including Microsoft Office applications • Awareness of safeguarding principles within community-based work • Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities • Access to suitable transport to fulfil the duties of the post • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required Desirable Criteria: • Experience supporting programmes funded by TEO, PCSP, PHA, or similar organisations • Experience assisting with procurement processes or funding administration • Knowledge of the Northern Ireland Strategic Framework to End EVAWG and/or Domestic & Sexual Abuse Strategy • Relevant safeguarding, trauma-informed, or EVAWG-related training • Awareness of community development funding opportunities and partnership working Additional Information: • Temporary opportunity within a high-profile and meaningful community programme area • Car parking facilities available onsite • Opportunity to work collaboratively with statutory and community partners across the Borough • Flexible working arrangements may be available in line with organisational policy • Evening and weekend work may be required to support programme delivery and events How to Apply: If you wish to apply or would like more information, please email your CV in Microsoft Word format to Julie at julie.skelly@applerecruitment.com before 4:00pm on Tuesday 26th May 2026.
