Job Description
BETA is seeking an experienced Senior Highway Project Engineer to join our team. This position will play a key role in highway design, developing contract plans and documents, and mentoring junior staff. The role involves collaboration across multiple service areas, assisting with business development, project pursuits, and coordinating projects with clients.
Responsibilities:
* Perform engineering design, review, and preparation of contract documents
* Provide technical oversight and mentor junior staff
* Prepare and review contract documents and reports
* Collaborate with design team members and provide technical support
* Provide client service and assist with proposal pursuits
Location & Work Schedule
The position is based in BETA’s Worcester office. Candidates should have flexibility to work from other office locations. BETA offers a hybrid work schedule, allowing employees to work remotely up to 2 days per week.

Minimum Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field
* Professional Engineer (PE) License
* 8 to 15 years of related engineering experience in highway design, stormwater management, ADA compliance, and roadway construction practices
* Proficient with AutoCAD Civil3D and Microstation OpenRoads Designer
* Experience with MUTCD, AASHTO, MassDOT design requirements
* Ability to collect field data and measurements, including roadway, sidewalk, and utility assets, and perform asset inspections
* Must be able to lift/move objects weighing up to 40 pounds
* Ability to perform field work in various weather conditions
* Ability to stand or sit for long periods
* Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
