Gloucestershire's largest comprehensive school, with over 200 staff and approximately 1,800 students, is seeking a PE Technician to support a positive learning environment by maintaining high standards under the leadership of the Head of Department.
Working hours: Monday 08:30-16:30, Tuesday to Thursday 08:30-17:00, Friday 08:30-15:00 (including a 30-minute unpaid lunch break each day).
Responsibilities:
1. Plan and organise fixtures throughout the year, liaising with other schools and booking transport as needed.
2. Prepare for fixtures daily to ensure matches are ready to start at the end of the day.
3. Support co-curricular programmes by leading teams and managing fixtures after school.
4. Set up house events alongside the Head of PE.
5. Regularly check facilities and equipment for safety.
6. Use Safety Cloud to log health and safety issues and complete termly audits.
7. Assist with setting up and clearing large equipment to facilitate learning.
8. Set up ICT equipment for lessons when needed.
9. Promote school sports events via bulletin and social media.
10. Maintain departmental displays in collaboration with the Head of PE.
11. Assist with photocopying, administration, and correspondence for the department.
12. Support administrative tasks, including preparing and tracking orders, collecting deliveries, and liaising with suppliers, finance, and reception.
13. Provide lesson support, working with small groups of students as needed.
14. Meet with visitors, staff, and students.
15. Perform any other duties appropriate to the grade and responsibilities of the post.
