Packaging only gets noticed when it goes wrong.
This role exists to stop that happening.
We’re working with a well-established food manufacturing site in the East Midlands looking for a Packaging Technologist to own packaging on site - from feasibility through to launch, and everything in between.
This is a hands-on, site-based role. Not a desk-only packaging job. Not a “someone else signs it off” role.
What You’ll Be Doing
Introducing and changing packaging from feasibility to delist
Completing NPA, Recipe Professor and Foods Connected sign-offs
Artwork checks, redesign support and pass-on-press approvals
Coordinating transit and internal trials
Managing day-to-day packaging issues with suppliers
Raising and managing SNCs
Tracking packaging waste for EPR compliance
Maintaining the site packaging database
Supporting customer and third-party audits
In short: if it’s packaging-related, it lands with you.
What They’re Looking For
Experience in a packaging or technical role (food manufacturing preferred)
Strong packaging knowledge
Food & Drink Labelling or Packaging Technology qualification (desirable)
Organised, practical, and comfortable managing your own workload
The Practical Stuff
Site-based role (East Midlands)
Monday–Friday, 08:30–17:00
Permanent
Must live within a commutable distance of site
Some national / occasional international travel
Why Consider It?
Stable, well-invested food manufacturing site
Clear ownership of packaging
Backed by a wider food group with long-term progression opportunities
If you want a packaging role with proper ownership, this one’s worth a look
