Interim Management Accountant (Contract)
Location: Manchester City Centre (3/4 days on site)
Contract: Now – End of August 2025
We’re seeking a skilled Management Accountant to join this Finance team on a short-term contract, covering paternity leave. You’ll play a critical role in delivering accurate and timely financial reporting for a global transport business unit.
What You'll Do:
* Oversee month-end close and ensure accurate, complete financial reporting
* Review and approve key journals, ensuring strong audit trail and backup
* Manage general ledger reconciliations with supporting documentation
* Ensure compliance with SOX, tax, statutory and statistical filing requirements
* Lead a small team of 3 finance professionals
* Support internal/external audits and ad-hoc finance projects
* Liaise with stakeholders across wider finance (FP&A, Treasury, Technical Accounting)
What You’ll Bring:
* Fully qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA)
* Minimum 5 years post-qualification experience
* Strong month-end close & reporting skills in a complex org
* Confident managing small teams and stakeholder relationships
* Proactive, detail-oriented, and solution-driven
