Purchasing Manager
Location: Burnley
Salary: £50,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
About the Role:
We are working exclusively with a reputable manufacturing company based in Burnley to identify an experienced and highly skilled Purchasing Manager to join their team. This is a key role within a rapidly growing business, offering a unique opportunity to shape the future of procurement within the company.
As the Purchasing Manager, you will oversee the sourcing and procurement of materials, supplies, and services essential to the manufacturing process. You will work closely with senior management to ensure the procurement strategy aligns with company objectives and operational goals, and manage a small purchasing team.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and implement procurement strategies to ensure cost-effective purchasing while maintaining high-quality standards.
* Negotiate with suppliers, manage contracts, and develop strong supplier relationships.
* Manage and optimize inventory levels to support smooth production operations.
* Collaborate with internal departments such as production, logistics, and finance to ensure timely delivery of goods.
* Lead and develop the purchasing team, ensuring effective training and performance management.
* Monitor market trends and suppliers to ensure competitive pricing and product availability.
The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:
* Proven experience as a Purchasing Manager or in a similar procurement role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
* Strong negotiation and communication skills.
* Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
* Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
* Strong knowledge of procurement software and systems.
* Leadership experience with the ability to motivate and guide a team.
