Special Needs Teaching Assistant – Autism Support
Mainstream Primary Schools
Wakefield
08:30am until 15:30pm
Ad-hoc flexible basis as well as full time long term positions available
Engage Education are currently working in partnership with numerous primary schools in Wakefield that are looking to welcome special needs teaching assistants to specifically to support learners with Autism.
Your Role:
* Supporting learners on a one-to-one basis often with complex learning needs
* Working with other support staff to engage pupils in class
* Providing feedback to teachers and parents
* You will be assisting pupils with Complex Communication and Autism, SEMH, ADHD, Severe Learning Difficulties and other Learning Disabilities
What you will need:
* A range of behaviour management techniques
* To have worked with learners with a range of needs
* The ability to engage a young person in learning through a range of methods
* To be able to commit to working at the school for long period of time
* A resilient attitude
