Public Law & Discrimination Paralegal – Full-Time Position (Hybrid Working) Hours & Location Full-time role, Monday – Friday from 9am to 5:30pm. 1 Year Fixed Term Contract. Hybrid working model (office/remote split available). Salary Range: £23,000 – £25,000. A dynamic and growing legal practice in London, known for its dedication to justice and high-quality work, is looking to expand its team. Specialising in Housing Law, Public Law, Discrimination, Employment, and Debt Matters, the firm serves clients across London and is committed to social justice. The practice operates from Farringdon, offering a flexible and collaborative working environment. The Role The practice is launching a dedicated Public Law and Discrimination department, presenting an exciting opportunity for an ambitious paralegal to assist in driving this dynamic new team forward. Key Responsibilities Conduct own casework in Public Law and Discrimination matters, including own advocacy. Conduct initial client interviews, taking detailed instructions. Advise clients on their rights, remedies, and legal options in a clear and compassionate manner. Maintain professional and supportive relationships with clients throughout the legal process. Instruct Counsel and attend court. Draft legal documents, correspondence, witness statements, and pleadings. Liaise with clients, courts, and counsel. Report to the Supervising Solicitor to review and discuss cases; provide updates and developments. Ensure compliance with LAA guidelines and funding criteria. Accurately record time and billing using LEAP case management system. Maintain up-to-date and organised case files for audit and compliance purposes. Track case deadlines and ensure compliance with procedural requirements. Assist in other practice areas, particularly in Employment Law. What We’re Looking For Paralegal certification or relevant degree in legal studies. 2 years of experience in a legal environment, preferably in public law or discrimination cases. Excellent research and writing skills. Exceptional attention to detail and organisational abilities. Proficiency in legal research databases and case management software. Excellent communication abilities with a strong focus on client satisfaction. Excellent analytical skills and ability to use own initiative. Excellent IT Skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office applications and document management skills.
