This is a split post where you will spend half of your time with the Pharmacy Paediatric Team and the other half with the Medicines Safety Team.
Please note this is a 12-month fixed term or secondment opportunity.
The post holder will participate in ward rounds, clinical meetings or out‑patient clinics as appropriate in order to provide pharmaceutical advice to prescribers and other health‑care professionals within the paediatric directorate.
They are expected to participate in clinical audit and quality improvement, and to develop and implement treatment protocols and guidelines for the use of medicines within paediatrics.
Collaboration with the rest of the clinical pharmacy team will be required to support the strategic development of the service, for example electronic prescribing, improved discharge processes and accredited technician checking.
As a key member of the Medicines Safety Team, the post holder will be involved in dynamic workstreams focused on optimising and improving the safe use of medicines throughout the trust.
The role provides an opportunity to expand your expertise and skillset, to contribute to service development or improvement, and to exercise leadership skills in a supportive setting.
The post holder should maintain high standards of pharmaceutical care and ensure timely, effective communication with the multi‑disciplinary clinical teams and collaborators.
