ICT Data Centre Operations Technician (Mobile)

This position offers a great opportunity to join a specialist Data Centre ICT Support company with a long-standing partnership with a leading Data Centre Group, providing career stability and growth.
The role involves working on a mobile basis, traveling between data hosting sites in Surrey, Hampshire, and Wiltshire. Candidates should have a minimum of 3-5 years' data centre experience, be able to undergo SC clearance, and have lived in the UK permanently for more than 5 years. A full UK driving license and access to a personal vehicle are required. (No Sponsorship Applications)
Key Responsibilities:
* Installation, patching, and configuration of bespoke environments for various internal and external vendor solutions, using a range of Network, Server, and Storage Hardware from different manufacturers.
* Collaborate with various departments and managed services, as well as Data Centre Managers and the Head of Data Centres, to improve procedures and share knowledge.
* Produce monthly reports on Space, Power, & Structured Cabling capacity to facilitate timely expansion and cabling deployments, with close monitoring of Power usage.
* Follow strict change control procedures during critical moves, adds, and changes within the Data Centres.
* Establish good rapport and demonstrate competency with policies and procedures of third-party Data Centre providers and Hosts.
* Utilize internal ticketing systems and meet fault resolution SLAs for troubleshooting, configuration, and component replacement across managed hardware (Servers, Switches, Firewalls, Storage Arrays, etc.).
* Install, configure, and load balance Intelligent PDUs for power monitoring.
* Troubleshoot LAN connectivity issues and support remote access re-establishment via SSH, Terminal Services/Remote Desktop Services, or Remote Access Controllers.
* Perform basic troubleshooting of structured cabling links, identify faults, and liaise with cabling teams for repairs and re-testing.
* Conduct periodic audit and quality checks on hardware and cabling deployments to maintain 100% system accuracy.
* Perform any other tasks as assigned by your Manager or senior staff of the Exponential-e Group.
