AJW Group is seeking a Imports Compliance Executive to join a key function within Logistics Compliance. The Imports Compliance Executive will work in the busy Imports team reporting to the Imports Compliance Team Leader. This role is vital to the business for ensuring the smooth and efficient importation of AJW’s goods though UK customs. Working side by side with the Logistics Operations and Freight Accounts teams and dealing directly with our freight forwarders and couriers to provide UK customs clearance instructions for all our imports.
What you’ll be doing:
* Responding to daily email requests for customs clearance instructions
* Liaising with other team members and departments on projects/queries
* Classifying components accurately using the UK trade tariff
* Assisting with queries via email and telephone
* Spot checking of customs entries for any errors
* Working with logistics to ensure smooth transportation of our customers goods
* Monitoring our import shipments and advising the relevant team of any delays
The Ideal candidate will be somebody who likes to challenge their mind and learn new processes and procedures. This candidate will thrive in a busy team-based environment where no two days are ever the same. We work to HMRC set deadlines, the candidate will need to work well under pressure, be organised, and able to prioritise workloads effectively.

* Previous experience in Import, Logistics, or Aviation is advantageous but not required, comprehensive training will be provided.
