Electrical Site Inspector

Full Time

Duties & Responsibilities

* Travel throughout Canada, to visually inspect electrical building systems in the Industrial, Commercial, and Institutional buildings industry.
* Conduct and attend site visits including but not limited to site verifications, inspections, and meetings.
* Analyze, diagnose, commission, and provide recommendations for electrical/mechanical equipment as needed.
* Service/maintain/repair lighting systems.
* Read and interpret product specifications and experience in working with building specifications, drawings and designs.
* Apply and adhere to national and provincial building codes across Canada.
* Provide technical support as requested.
* Utilize technology tools such as tablets, markup software to review, annotate, and update electrical drawings and site documentation.
* Complete paperwork accurately in a timely manner.
* Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications and Requirements

* A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and access to a personal vehicle.
* A valid 309A license with at least 5 years of experience is required.
* A 442A license is considered an asset.
* Extensive knowledge of electrical systems and their operations.
* Knowledge of applicable codes and standards such as the Canadian Electrical Code, the Canadian National Building Code (NBC), Ontario Building Code (OBC), etc.
* Familiarity with LEED, ASHRAE, CEC, and energy-efficient design principles (LEED AP or CEM certification is an asset).
* Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
* Excellent interpersonal skills with a talent for building relationships.
* Solid analytical, detail-oriented, and problem-solving skills.
* Flexibility to adapt to various work locations and schedules, including the ability to travel away from home is a must.
