<div><h3>Overview</h3><p>This is an opportunity for an Assistant/Associate Practitioner in Mammography to join our friendly and motivated multidisciplinary team at the Cheshire & Stockport Breast Screening Programme. We are looking for an experienced Assistant Practitioner in Mammography with Level 4 mammography associate qualification or equivalent.</p><p>You will need excellent communications skills and a knowledge of the National Health Breast Screening Programme and its aims. Knowledge of the symptomatic breast cancer pathway is also beneficial.</p><p>We welcome applications from Graduate visa holders; it is important to note that you must have a minimum of 6 months before this expires at the start of your employment for training and operational reasons.</p><p>Non-UK or Irish applicants should check their visa and this roles eligibility for sponsorship before applying. For further information please visit Visas and immigration - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)</p><p><b>Please be advised we are unable to provide Skilled Worker Visa Sponsorship to non-UK residents.</b></p><h3>Main duties</h3><p>To provide a high quality mammography service as part of the NHSBSP (National Health Service Breast Screening Programme) and Symptomatic Service under the supervision of a qualified mammographer.</p><p>Work within achieved competencies to agreed protocols and towards further competencies which may be in a wider diagnostic modality as dictated by departmental workload.</p><p>To provide assistance to Radiologists, Radiographers and other staff in all areas of the department.</p><p>Screening and symptomatic services are offered at the Macclesfield Breast screening centre, with 3 Siemens digital mammography sets, two with stereotactic biopsy and tomosynthesis attachment.</p><p>You will need to have a flexible approach to service provision which will involve evening and weekend clinics at the Breast Screening Centre at Macclesfield and Mobile Van sites. Travel is essential to this role, so please demonstrate how you would meet these requirements. A genuine occupational qualification applies to these posts under section 6 of the Sex Discrimination Act of 1975 and therefore they are restricted to female applicants only.</p><p>Mobile screening in Stockport is provided on a mobile van with Siemens digital mammography.</p><h3>Qualifications</h3><ul><li>Foundation Degree in Assisting Professional Practice or equivalent qualification or apprenticeship</li><li>GCSE Maths and English Grades A-C, 4-9 or Functional Skills Maths level 2, Functional Skills level 2 or equivalent</li></ul><h3>Experience</h3><ul><li>Experience of working in a Breast Screening Programme</li><li>Understanding of working in a regulated clinical environment or exposure to radiation safety
</li><li>Experience of working in a Radiology unit</li></ul><h3>Skills</h3><ul><li>Effective communication skills both written and verbal</li><li>Ability to demonstrate caring attitude to patients/clients and staff members</li><li>Good clinical and safety judgement within scope of practice</li><li>Able to self-motivate</li><li>Team working skills and ability to follow instructions under supervision</li><li>Able to prioritise</li></ul><h3>Knowledge</h3><ul><li>Knowledge of Infection Control Involvement with Quality Assurance</li><li>Ability to maintain confidentiality</li><li>Knowledge of data protection and GDPR principles</li><li>Understanding of IRMER regulations</li><li>Understanding of NHSBSP procedures</li><li>Knowledge of CRIS/PACS</li></ul><h3>Personal Qualities</h3><ul><li>Consistent and reliable</li><li>Commitment to continuous professional development (CPD)</li></ul><h3>Disclosure and Barring Service Check</h3><p>This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.</p><h3>Salary</h3><p>£28,392 to £31,157 a year (Annex 21 or Annex 30)</p><h3>Insurance Check</h3><p>This post requires an <b>Enhanced</b> DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check with barred lists, the cost of which is payable by the successful candidate.
